Experimental Investigation on Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine Fuelled with Linseed Biodiesel Blends

چکیده

The core object of this study is to examine the suitability linseeds for biodiesel production. Engine performance and emissions at different proportions linseed-diesel blends were investigated. Linseed was produced through transesterification process mixed with petro-diesel fuel (D100) volumetric ratios 5% (LB5), 10% (LB10), 15% (LB15). properties linseed its measured according ASTM standards compared as a threshold comparison. results showed that are within permissible limits. test shows lower specific consumption (SFC) LB5 blend LB10 LB15 slightly higher value D100. brake thermal efficiency (BTE) observed among other investigated samples. heat dissipation rate in all found have been less than Carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) hydrocarbons (HC) mostly comparison D100’s. Among blends, more suitable alternative diesel engines can be blended petro without engine modifications. It concluded cultivation production Iraq very promising, therefore, it recommended proper exploitation use energy may encouraged pertinent agencies Iraq.
